Stakeholders/Partners

Transnet

Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), an operating division of Transnet SOC, enables the flow of imports, exports, and transshipments through its cargo terminal operations. Transnet owns the port while TPT provides cargo handling services to a wide spectrum of customers, including shipping lines, freight forwarders, and cargo owners.

Operations within the bulk sector are characterised by handling dry bulk commodities through a network of conveyor belts, tipplers, stackers, reclaimers, and ship loading and unloading equipment. TPT handles mineral bulk commodities at the ports of Richards Bay.

Transnet's loading charge is R121/t.

The average load rate is 175t/hour. For example:
· We loaded a total of 8 598t during the 12-hour shift, totalling 358t/hrs per appliance, hence it takes approximately 9 days to load a 75 000t vessel.

The inability of both rail transport and ports to provide an effective and efficient service to the industry is costing the industry and South Africa a great deal in lost opportunity. There has been a major decline in production at mines. E&T Minerals will be able to better serve its customers if we are in control of our supply and haulage.

SGS

SGS is an independent testing station. It acts as a trade umpire to ensure the accuracy of information about the material tested. Testing of the material is performed before the cargo is loaded on the truck or wagon, when it is received at the port (in 2 000t batches) and after the loading of the vessel. The Certificate of Analysis on the total composite obtained by SGS is final and binding. E&T Minerals monitors material qualities daily to ensure Scota requirements are met.

D and A Shipping

E&T Minerals believes in treating our stakeholders with respect, which includes transparent communication in a timely fashion and excellence in our service offering. To ensure the quality and proper handling of our material, we have partnered with an experienced firm across our value chain at the port, namely D and A Shipping, which provides us with clearing and forwarding services.

D and A Shipping services other blue-chip companies including Glencore, LI Coal Resources and Anglo. D and A Shipping monitors and tallies the incoming cargo and ensures that there is no contamination of our stockpile. It provides additional security personnel to monitor and secure the cargo, and, if required, material is tarped.
